The last time I wrote, I was gearing up for a number of speaking engagements, which I was thrilled about!

Unfortunately, in December of 2019 I began having issues with my speech. I had countless (and I mean countless) doctors appointments and tests done, but still do not have a formal diagnosis to this day. Mind you, Jodie and I were trying to figure out what was going on in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fast forward to this past week — Texas just had a winter storm like we’ve never seen, complete with ice and snow. For 2 1/2 days we had no electricity, water, cellular or internet service. The first night of the storm got down to 13 degrees, the second night 18, and third night 24 degrees; it has been below freezing every night since. When things started thawing out, several families had broken water pipes, but luckily we were one of the few that had no issues.

Our rescue dog, Ava, loves the cold and the snow.

With all of these unprecedented events happening, I’ve been lucky that my role as a Strategic Account Manager for Thomas Printworks can be done from home. One thing I realized, though, will all of this down time is that although I haven’t been able to do the speaking engagements and connect with people face-to-face in the way that I love, I can still use my voice through blogging.

Going forward, I will be blogging once a week here on my website. Keep an eye out for new posts, and feel free to share them with your friends if you enjoy them.
